Winter Talks 2012

Shore - Wednesday 14th, 21st, 28th March - 7.30pm
Water - Monday 26th March, 2nd, 9th April - 6pm

Adam is starting the series tomorrow night with "Little Jonny" - the only rig talk done on every continent!! Aspects have been covered in previous years but never in full at CCSC - this will give all sailors a great insight into how the rig works and how we control it. Not one to miss! Dinghy/Keelboat/Beginner/Experienced sailors will learn something!

The series will then continue the following weeks with Mechanics of the start line and windward mark followed by downwind and gybe mark/leeward mark.

Cost for whole series only £40 (£20 for Cadets) for the whole series including a free beer/soft drink each week – a bargain! If you pay/talk it will be £7.50. And food will be available at £2/head

See you there,

Helen, Sailing Sec

Work Party...

Barry Grant has put out a call for help needed this Sunday from around 9.30 to 12.30 to assist in the refurbishment of Pontoons. If you can spare a few hours please come along. If you have Spanners and Scrapers for the pontoon work or a Shovel to help out with the crane base so much the better - many hands make light work!

10th - Castle Cove in the 60s

14th/21st/28th - Adam Bowers lectures

26th - Adam Bowers on the water training

27th - WPCA Boat Jumble

31st - Z class Dinner!

Cruising News...

We have a new cruising captain, Carl Holland. His first gathering will be around an RNLI Safety Talk on 10th April. Hopefully Carl will get the support he needs to justify organising a full crusing calender this year. Of course cruisers are most welcome to attend the various rallies run alongside the various passage races, which this year include Poole, Alderney, Cherbourg and Cowes (although the Cowes race is a feeder for the RTI so probably not the best week to rock up at Cowes looking for a berth!)

Christmas Greetings...

The Z class team at Castle Cove wish you all a very Happy Christmas and Happy and Prosperous New Year. Happy Sailing!
